FCMB GMD, LADI BALOGUN WINS GLOBAL CHAMPIONS AWARD

Ladi Balogun, the Group Managing Director of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Plc has been honoured with the award of This Day’s Young Global Champions in honour of young and daring Nigerians who are 50 and below and have taken Nigeria into global competition.
Ladi Balogun received this honour at the 16th Annual This Day Awards for Excellence and Good Governance which took place in Lagos, recently. Ladi Balogun was honoured for transforming a family owned bank in the face of the demise of other family owned banks. According to the organizers of the yearly awards, leaders of 14 corporate organizations in the country who have built new companies from scratch and made them world class received this year’s awards in this category.
Ladi Balogun, son of Otunba Subomi Balogun, remains one young man who has done tremendously well for himself. Ladi Balogun's impressive story could not have been otherwise, seeing that he, Ladi,  attended some of the best institutions in the world, and  complements with his prestigious and enviable father, Otunba Subomi Balogun, who appears to have conquered all challenges of life with his wealth.
 Ladi remains undaunted in his desire to further solidify and sustain the financial base of the Balogun's business empire, especially, the First City Monument Bank (FCMB), where he sits as Managing Director and CEO.
That Ladi Balogun rose to the leadership position in the thriving bank could be attributed to his passion for hard work and resilience. TROUBLE IN NURTW HOUSE! TINUBU INSISTES ON OLORUNWA’s RESIGNATION OR SACK

 After incessant denials of  riff between the two powerhouses of National Union Of Road Transport workers,NURTW, The Chairman, Akanni Olorunwa and Treasurer, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo.
It is now dawn on everyone that there is truly a bad blood between the two, which dates back many years ago.
Penultimate Wednesday men of the Nigerian police force arrested MC Oluomo and a popular actor, who is also a member of the union, Kabiru a.k.a Sir K for reasons many never new were related to the riff between Oluomo and his Chairman Olorunwa.
Haven dug dip into the matter; REPORTNIGERIA learnt that the reason for this current fight is as a result of an alleged embezzlement of over 7 billion naira of the union involving the chairman, Olorunwa and other members of the union who are his loyalists.
The situation has become very messy that former Governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other reputable members of the Union have asked the embattled chairman to resign today being Saturday, Saturday May 8, 2011 or face a sack on Monday May 10, 2011.
In the fight to retain his position in the union as the chairman, this site learnt Olorunwa have since implored reputable individuals close to the former governor, to plead on his behalf, although we further learnt that after sometime, the former governor invited the two parties
Olorunwa and Oluomo, to his Burdilon street home, in Lagos Island Nigeria.
sources has it that while in Tinubu’s house for the reconciliation meeting, an angry mob suspected to be men of chairman Rafiu Olorunwa’s faction of the union came and attacked Oluomo and his boys last night night, although MC was said to have outsmarted them and escaped, but an eye witness revealed that some of his aides were seriously injured in the course of the operation.
An inside source informed this site that accusing fingers are pointing at NURTW Chairman, Olrunwa as the one behind the whole move
This we learnt aggravated the Asiwaju that he insisted his on Olorunwa must stand
It would be recalled that MC Oluomo had also on July 26th 2010 last year escaped assassination by unknown gunmen who killed his driver whose name was given as Kunle.
