This year’s edition of the pulsating M2 Bafana Bafana (The boys the boys, where are you?) music and games festival will hold on the 9th of December, 2011 at the sprawling Time Square, Ajao road, off Obafemi Awolowo way, Ikeja-LAGOS. The event, now in its 6th edition annually brings together hundreds of professionals in the media and marketing industries. This year’s edition will be broken into two sessions, the Games session, starting from 5pm and the all night concert and dance session. The evening session, targeted at early callers who will participate in varied games to let down the tension of the day will feature table tennis, scrabble, chess, adult video games, pool and many others. Organizers promise many valuable prizes for winners in the different categories of the games including separate prizes for the different sexes in a bid to encourage female participants. Christened the “Happy Friends” Bafana, invites are encouraged to come with friends and loved to make the usually memorable event deliver total all round satisfaction. Another innovative addition to this year’s event is the ‘Lion’s Den’ which is a party within a party featuring a highly exclusive run down of high class entertainment. Though restricted, the Lion’s Den is targeted only at those who seek to go the extra length in relaxation. The all night session boasts of a powerful concert session, comedy by a host of performers led by Gbenga Adeyinka and a return of the runway of fire which features the spectacular 100 M2Models in a magical fashion parade. Partners of the event, Hotel 1960 hospitality group along with other classy service providers will be on hand to provide assorted food and drink products at highly subsidized rates in the spirit of giving, that the M2bafana is known for over the last six years. According to the publisher of M2, a weekly marketing magazine which organizes the event annually, “M2 Bafana is our own way of thanking our subscribers and friends in the industry and enhancing the bonds of fellowship in the media and marketing industries, two sectors that cannot survive without each other”. Already, many leading performers are gearing up to make the event even bigger than in previous years. Responding to enquiries about how to be part of the event, the publisher explains that entry is free to all upon receiving a special invite either in hard copy of via sms. Entry into the Lion Den will come at a token, he explained with a smile; after all, he jokes “ not everyone wants to enter a lion’s den!” This year’s M2 Bafana is supported by MTN Nigeria, Intercontinental Distilleries Nigeria, Power Horse, Connect Marketing, Hotel 1960 and a host of others. Invites are implored to arrive early for convenience.
