One of Nigeria's leading entertainment company, Chocolate City Group, the parent company of
Chocolate City Music, Chocolate City Media and
Chocolate City Distribution has emerged the runner-up at the recently concluded
Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship 2011, Held in Kenya.
Chocolate City, was the only Nigerian entertainment company that made it to the top ten list after a record 3,300 companies from 48 African countries with a minimum annual turnover of
$1 Million and a maximum of
$10 Million for at least 3 years consecutively submitted entries to compete for the Grand Prize of
$100,000 and six other prizes of
$50,000 each.

The top ten companies made a formal presentation to an international jury of business leaders chaired by Malik Fal, Managing Director of Endeavor and some of Africa’s most prominent entrepreneurs and investors, amongst whom are Kamal Budhabhatti, Grand Prize Winner of the 2010 Africa Awards; James Manyika, Director of the McKinsey Global Institute and Ayisi Makitiani, the CEO of Fanisi Capital and Chocolate City was announced as a runner-up, taking home
50,000 USD at the high-profile award dinner which will hold today, December 8 2011.
