Xtacy, a musical group made of Nene Johnson and Mona Okoroalum, who were signed on to Kendy Records some few years ago, we reliably gathered have broke up.
Our investigation revealed that both girls decided to dissolve the group Xtacy after falling out with label, Kendy Records owned by Kennedy Durueke.
The mail sent to this reporter by Xtacy, which further confirmed our story, reads;
This is to inform our friends, fans and the media that the girl group Xtacy has been dissolved, due to the expiry of our contract with KENDI RECORDS, which ended on the 30th of January 2011.The group Xtacy decided not to renew the contract due to unfavorable conditions as a result of lack of utmost attention to our work and promotions in general and also failure to release our debut album. All of these shortcomings from the label is as a result of the fact that the label is based outside the country. The group Xtacy can no longer stand and continue because they were brought together by the label, Kendi Records. In other words the members of this group, Nene Johnson and Mona Okoroalum would be going solo. Thank you so much for all ur love and support.. XTACY
On if the two girls would still work together if need be, they replied yes and further revealed that they were actually working on something new at the moment, although they confirmed that they wouldn’t want to be signed on to any record label at the moment, as they are bent on playing their separate solo careers
